Vancouver, BC-- DVDs containing Al Gore's Oscar-winning documentary “An Inconvenient Truth” will be distributed to all public high schools in British Columbia.

Tides Canada Foundation (www.tidescanada.org) and Novex (www.novex.ca) have joined forces in this unique campaign to raise awareness about global warming among BC high school youth. Gregor Robertson, Member of the Legislature for Vancouver Fairview and former CEO of Happy Planet had the vision for the project.

Tides Canada Foundation is donating the DVDs from Paramount Home Entertainment as part of their on-going work to support climate change initiatives. Distribution will utilize Novex Courier’s clean fleet of hybrid and low-emission vehicles, and bicycle courier service.

"An Inconvenient Truth" is an antidote to the false impression that climate change is just too overwhelming,” said Tim Draimin, Executive Director of Tides Canada Foundation. “This business-charity partnership aims to ensure that BC’s high school students have access to this excellent, solutions-oriented film.”

“Climate change, environmental sustainability and conservation are all part of an essential dialogue in our communities,” said Chris Kelly, Vancouver School Board’s Superintendent of Schools. “This documentary is an excellent reference for such dialogue in our schools.”

Tides Canada Foundation and Novex announced the donation in front of the Vancouver School Board this morning.
